Laguna Beach, CA, December 10, 2006 — Pop superstars Aly and AJ present "Doin’ Our Part For Kids," a benefit concert for the AmberWatch Foundation. The concert was held on Sunday, December 10th at 2:00 PM at the Irvine Bowl (Home of the Pageant of the Masters). A limited number of VIP tickets included entrance to the exclusive, star-studded after-party attended by Marilu Henner, Joely Fisher, Lorenzo Lamas, Gabrielle Carteris, LeVar Burton, and St. Louis Cardinal outfielder Jim Edmonds. The event raised over $100,000 for the AmberWatch Foundation.

The AmberWatch Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charity dedicated to the prevention of child abduction and molestation. Aly and AJ are Co-Chairs of the Foundation’s Child Advisory Board and dedicated 100% of all ticket sales from the concert to the Foundation. The concert drew many celebrities including American Idol’s Randy Jackson whose two children also serve on the Foundation’s Children Advisory Board. Jackson also introduced Aly and AJ on stage. Children from surrounding Boys and Girl’s Clubs were present to enjoy the show, courtesy of a generous donation by Jim Edmonds.

"We are all honored and moved by Aly and AJ’s dedication to our cause," said Keith Jarrett, AmberWatch Foundation’s Executive Director. "Because of their generosity, we will be able to provide hundreds of thousands of kids here locally and across the country with our educational programs that will help protect them from child predators."

"Unfortunately child abduction and molestation is a problem of massive proportion for kids in our generation," say Aly and AJ. "We would like to do our part to help children all over the country protect themselves from such dangers." The sisters’ dedication to this cause is evident in a moving song they wrote, "I Am One of Them," which was inspired by a real-life kidnapping incident in Florida.

ABOUT THE AMBERWATCH FOUNDATION:

Through its "Be Safe!" Education Program, the Foundation's mission is to (by the end of 2008) educate 25 million elementary-aged children, and their parents, on how to identify potential endangerment scenarios and stay out of the hands of abductors and predators.

The AmberWatch Foundation has identified a program of twelve Be Safe tactics that can arm children with protective device and knowledge.  The Foundation is seeking to educate 25 million elementary age American children and their parents on how to identify potential endangerment scenarios and to stay out of the hands of predators.

The AmberWatch Foundation's three-pronged approach, includes:

The Be-Safe Curriculum, a safety program presented in elementary schools by local retired-but-active educators and by law enforcement professionals.  These presenters show children how to identify and respond to dangerous situations.  The Be-Safe Curriculum is offered as a public service at no cost to schools and communities.

The Be-Safe Book, a coloring/workbook that features the 12 Be-Safe Tips and presents "what-if?" scenarios children can discuss with parents.

The Be-Safe Public Service Announcement Campaign with the 12 Be-Safe Tips, uniquely designed for parents and children. The announcements are made for radio, television and print and star celebrities and well-known sports stars.
