RAY ROMANO AND ALL-STAR LINEUP HOST A VERY FUNNY EVENING ABOUT A VERY SERIOUS SUBJECT
January 17, Los Angeles, CA – Ray Romano will headline a star-studded evening of comedy on Monday, January 29th, 2007 at the world-renowned Improv in Hollywood to benefit the Amberwatch Foundation, the national organization leading the fight against child sexual molestation and abuse via their national campaign and school curriculums.
In an unprecedented event, Romano, together with National Spokesperson Terri Hatcher and Kid’s Advisory Board Co-Chairs Aly and AJ, will be joined by a number of famous surprise guests who will return to the IMPROV stage with the single purpose of helping the AmberWatch Foundation stop sexual molestation and abduction -- one child, one school district, one city at a time.
"We are honored and moved by these artists’ dedication to our cause," said Keith Jarrett, AmberWatch Foundation’s Executive Director. "Because of their generosity and commitment to our children across the nation, we will be able to increase awareness of this societal crisis and help us reach hundreds of thousands of kids locally and across the country with our educational programs that will help protect them from child predators."
In a visually spectacular road rally, famed Ferrari Club of North America and the LA Auto Gallery will create a 20 mile (?) convoy of 65 Ferraris and Maserattis to arrive in formation at the Hollywood Improv for the exclusive benefit comedy event.
The AmberWatch Foundation, a public 501 (c)(3) was formed to deal with the social ill of child molestation and abduction which affects today’s children at alarming rates. According to a recent survey of 17,500 children conducted by Kaiser Permanente, one in four girls and one in six boys will become the victims of sexual assault by the time they reach adulthood.
With the constant and active support of campaign chair, Terri Hatcher, celebrities such as Susan Sarandon, Julianne Moore, Ray Romano, Kelsey Grammer, John Walsh, Samuel L. Jackson and the San Diego Chargers have created anational AmberWatch Public Service Announcements . Aided by the dedicated support of the media and press, the AmberWatch Foundation is able to reach the parents and children of our nation, to raise awareness of this critical issue, and distribute a program and saves lives.
The mission of the AmberWatch Foundation is to facilitate the Foundation’s “Be Safe” education program for children, parents and the community through its interactive situation learning approach which involves current and retired law enforcement professionals.
