THE AMBERWATCH FOUNDATION GIVES NEW MEANING TO "ONLINE SAFETY"
The "Be Safe!" Program becomes accessible to any school or community thanks to the AmberWatch Foundation's effort to train presenters and distribute the program through successful implementation of its new online platform.
Irvine, California (October 15, 2008) - The AmberWatch Foundation (AWF) has released the much anticipated online training and distribution platform for its "Be Safe!" Program that is taught by education and law enforcement professionals to elementary-aged children.
The introduction of the online training module and the program distribution mechanism virtually eliminates the need for potential presenters of the "Be Safe!" Program to attend in-person training sessions or rely on hard copies of the program in order to present it.
"Educators and law enforcement professionals wanting to teach the nation's children how to stay safe from child predators shouldn't have to jump through logistical hoops in order to do so," says Geoff Haynes, VP of Program Development of the AmberWatch Foundation. "The AmberWatch Foundation has always offered the Be Safe!' Program for free
now it's very easy, too."
To ensure that the AmberWatch Foundation is aware of every presenter utilizing the program, each presenter registers with the Foundation at the beginning of the online training.
The first district scheduled to acquire the program and get trained entirely through the online platform is Alachua County Public Schools in Florida.
Since its introduction in 2005, the "Be Safe!" Program, consisting of a basic classroom curriculum with group discussions, workbook activities and assignments, has been adopted in many of the largest school districts in the country and is currently offered and taught in school districts nationally.
